Create a shared AR and telepresence space
Align physical rooms around the same wreck while keeping the model in a stable room frame.
Before you start
- An AR room, controller tracking, and enough clear physical space to work safely.
- Two Quest headsets for shared-room or telepresence validation.
- A signed-in account on each headset so anchors, poses and model movement can synchronise.
Choose colocated or telepresence alignment
For a colocated session, place both headsets’ anchors at the same two physical points. For telepresence, place the two anchor pairs at corresponding points in each room. The model belongs to the room frame, never to a headset.
Place the controller anchors
Place the blue left-controller ball first, then the orange right-controller ball. Keep a clear horizontal baseline of at least 0.15 m. Anchor distance defines direction, not model scale.
Confirm the physical match
Before moving the model, compare several virtual features with their intended physical points. A two-point alignment should be upright and repeatable.
Move the model without moving the room
Pinch to translate, rotate and resize the wreck. Other participant avatars stay in the room frame while the model changes.
Test headset re-entry
Remove and replace one headset, wait for tracking and room-frame confirmation, then check the same physical points again. Treat passthrough failure and room-frame mismatch as different problems.
